Excellent... We arrived in the middle of a rush (without a reservation) with 5 of us with 2 dogs, and were greeted with kindness and a smile. The staff moved tables to accommodate us. As for the food: a limited quality menu, ultra-fresh salad... Smiling service 100% focused on customer satisfaction despite the crowds and a very digestible bill (around €30/person with non-alcoholic drinks, starter-main course-dessert). In short, a great experience!! I recommend

A heavenly place where the welcome is perfect, the setting is superb, everything is thoughtfully designed without any ostentation, the garden, conducive to dreams and serenity... Sunday morning breakfast took place in the same spirit and only confirmed our impression of the day before. In two words: classy!! Every time we visit Grignan, we have dinner at the Café des Vignerons. They have a great selection of quality wines and the food is excellent. I highly recommend the Caesar salad and the homemade ice cream!

This hotel in the charming village of Grignan is actually my favourite hotel in the world. I've been coming here for years, and each time the experience gets better and better. The original hotel with it's elegant rooms and beautiful gardens make you feel transported to another world, and the new addition and renovation of the old farmhouse Chapouton which is only a few minutes walk is another creation extraordinaire! The two restaurants - the Bistro (SO great!) and the Michelin star restaurant (Which is beyond AMAZING and should definitely be on your bucket list!!) is only surpassed by the hotel staff. They are so kind and professional and always there to make sure your experience is one to remember. So many hotels strive for excellence, but this one truly delivers, and I look forward to next year's visit!! A very happy customer, Barbara (United Kingdom)

Father's Day meal. All the dishes were visually and tastefully wonderful. A major drawback was the unfriendly service staff, and we were disappointed that no complimentary drinks, digestifs, or coffees were offered, leaving the final bill at €457. A shame.

Just a few years ago, as lifelong vegetarians we couldn’t get a decent veggie meal out in France. It was a running joke that it would be a goats cheese salad every night of the holiday- if you were lucky! We visited La Clair De Plume’s gastronomic restaurant tonight and it was a breath of fresh air. A set menu of 4 courses of delicious, thoughtfully crafted vegetarian treats which we loved every minute of. We highly recommend this restaurant as a great fine dining option with a beautiful garden seating area to relax in before or after your meal. Friendly staff too :)

Very nice establishment with friendly staff. The manager who checked us out was charming, but I think it was the slightly older head waiter who was very rude and spoke very rudely to the waiters... Customers and colleagues are not dogs.

We ate at the Bistrot de la Ferme Chapouton: excellent!! The menu included a starter (organic egg), main course (duckling and my wife cod) and dessert (excellent homemade desserts: chocolate mousse and egg custard). Our 11-year-old son had the children's menu, which is a cooked dish (pork shoulder, mashed potatoes and vegetables): he loved it and ate everything! A good address.

While the meal itself was very good, the welcome and service were deplorable! We had reserved a table for Sunday lunch on our wedding anniversary (mentioned several times during the reservation), but the welcome was simply awful!!! After being moved to a different table just minutes after we were seated (why??? a mystery...), the aperitif options were announced very curtly, as if we were "stupid." Indeed, I quote the waitress's response after I asked her about the cocktail's ingredients: "I'm telling you right now, Madam!!!"... Okay, sorry for asking 😡. At the same time, please be clearer, because it was incomprehensible, thank you! Right after the starter, one of the waiters asked my husband in a haughty tone if he would like a glass of red wine to accompany his meal, which he accepted. However, he only came back to bring it...at DESSERT TIME, so it was completely pointless! We saw him wandering around the neighboring tables for several minutes, waiting for him to bring it back. It made you wonder if he'd simply forgotten about us. Then he came back and said, "I was late bringing it to you." Oh, right... Given his attitude, we told him he could take it back, which he didn't appreciate. Oh well! (Normally, we would have accepted it without any problem). Finally, when the bill arrived, we almost paid twice for the meal we'd already paid for in advance (because it was included with our hotel stay at "Clair de la Plume"), and no apology was offered. We got a real dressing-down from the manager, as if we were the ones at fault! I don't understand this haughty behavior from the staff, which we experienced from beginning to end. Perhaps it was because we were the only ones in the restaurant dressed appropriately for this type of establishment? And yes, no shorts, jeans, flip-flops, or sneakers for us, sorry... At the same time, you're a fine-dining restaurant, and it was (I repeat) our wedding anniversary. Furthermore, this wasn't even acknowledged by the establishment (not even a simple "congratulations" or "happy anniversary"). At the same time, I'm not surprised anymore...Lol! We had already been here three years ago, and it was very good, but this time, we are very, very disappointed, and we won't be coming back!
