The recipe

Confits, or chutneys, are typical for their sweet and sour flavour. Widely consumed in India, they are beginning to earn their place on the condiment shelves in France as well. This confit represents a perfect marriage between the sweetness of figs and the light acidity of balsamic vinegar. This preparation is recommended especially for the festive season, as an accompaniment to gingerbread and foie gras!

How to use it

The fig confit is the perfect accompaniment to foie gras for your festive aperitifs. It can be used to accompany poultry (especially duck), a roast duck, a leg of lamb or simply with a cheese platter.

Composition

Figs (45%), cane sugar, onions, balsamic vinegar (6%) (sulphite), white wine vinegar (sulphite), olive oil, salt, herbes de Provence, gelling agent: pectin. Keep in a cool place after opening.
